Google Play

Google Play rejected your Data safety form

Google checks that the Data safety section of your listing matches what your app really does. When it doesn't, updates are rejected or the app gets a policy notice.

What this rejection means

Every app on Google Play declares how it handles user data, and Google compares the declaration with how the app behaves. The rejection rarely says which part doesn't match.

What is at stake

Data safety problems block updates, urgent fixes included, until they are resolved. Repeated policy violations can affect the whole developer account.

When to talk to us

  • The message doesn't make clear what to change
  • You resubmitted and got the same answer
  • A launch, an update or a campaign is waiting on this
  • You're not sure whether to reply, resubmit or appeal

Why it takes more than a quick fix

Getting the declaration right is detailed work, and it has to stay right with every update.

How we help

  2. We find the real causeWe look at your case the way the store does, and find what is really behind it.
  3. You get a clear planWhat has to change, written for your team, or we work on it with them.
  4. We help you answerYour reply to the reviewer or your appeal, and follow-up until the review is closed.

Questions

We filled in the form carefully. Why was it rejected?

Carefully is not always accurately: the details that matter are easy to miss. Finding them is part of what we do.

Can you guarantee approval?

No one outside Apple and Google can promise how a review will go. What we can do is find the real cause, remove what we can see would block approval and give the reviewer everything they need.

Do you need access to our accounts?

It helps, but it is your choice. We can work from screenshots, exports and a build, or with a limited role you add and remove yourself.
